RETRO COMEDY‑MYSTERY WHO’S CLYDE SET TO PREMIERE AT THE READING BISCUIT FACTORY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A mysterious figure known only as Clyde is turning an ordinary neighbourhood upside down. Recognised by his legendary afro, black feathered hat, and long black Cadillac, Clyde appears without warning — and anyone who crosses his path is instantly pulled into a surreal 1970s time‑warp. Platform shoes, soul‑brother outfits, retro slang, and a permanent shift into full 70s mode follow every encounter. No one knows who Clyde is, where he comes from, or why he transforms people… but everyone knows the consequences of looking directly at him.
When a frightened man reports that he accidentally saw Clyde’s face and was thrown into full 70s transformation, detectives Willis and Booker are assigned to investigate. What begins as a simple break‑in spirals into a chaotic trail of stolen dirty socks, snooker‑hall brawls, and a house full of unforgettable characters — including the fierce and comedic Three Sassy Sisters. As the detectives chase rumours, funk, and flip‑flop fights across town, the legend of Clyde grows stranger, deeper, and more soulful, all leading back to the question everyone is asking:
Who is Clyde?
Who’s Clyde is a retro, family‑friendly comedy‑mystery powered by the original twelve‑song soundtrack album of the same name — a two‑sided soul and funk project written and produced entirely by Gina Sedman. Inspired by the classic 1970s soundtrack style of Curtis Mayfield’s Superfly, the album blends heartfelt soul, playful funk, and cinematic storytelling. Each track supports the film’s world, from the swagger of “Who Is Clyde,” “Black Hat Cadillac,” and “You So Smooth,” to the tension of “The Chase,” “The Photograph,” and “Without a Trace,” and the emotional depth of “Never,” “A Difference,” and “I Want to Go.” Every note, vocal, and arrangement is 100% human‑made, with select contributions from Andrew Sedman on percussion, Robert “Peewee” Hill on bass, and Michiko Hill on keys.
The film and album are deeply connected, with the movie serving as the visual companion to the music. Both are written and produced by Gina Sedman, who also serves as the film’s writer, director, cinematographer, and editor, as well as co‑executive producer alongside her husband, Andrew Sedman. Sedman is a multi‑award‑winning soul recording artist with more than thirty years in the music industry and over a decade of experience writing, producing, and directing films. Her work is known for its authenticity, humour, and era‑true creative style.
The Who’s Clyde album will be released exclusively on Bandcamp on June 1, 2026, followed by the film’s official premiere at The Reading Biscuit Factory, Reading, on June 7, 2026.
